I wanted to paint a mermaid/butterfly image ever since I first heard Pati Yang's Pretty Fin. While the sole meaning of the song is quite debatable, the part that actually inspired me is a part that doesn't appear anywhere in lyrics sheets (websites, CD booklet and such), but she still sings it... something about underwater butterflies and lilies looking scary from beneath. :]

Speaking of lilies, I took a stab in the complete dark on them - the perspective is probably horribly wrong.

Two days, no ref (should've used some for hands, I guess), lots of fun.
