I don't know how to explain this one - this is what I 'saw' in my head on a long, long car ride home. They were dancing to whatever song was playing at the moment. It was both very awkward and awesome.
And it's not about life and death and such stuff, simply because I don't think about those things.
Okay, maybe it is about time. But not in a way you think it is ;P

I used photo reference for pose and lighting. It's crazy what a difference well-placed lights make.

Underwater Tango

I guess I'll see you on the other side
I will be waiting till you come and dance
I'll let the river know you're moving in
I'll let you tango with my pretty fin

I wanted to paint a mermaid/butterfly image ever since I first heard Pati Yang's Pretty Fin. While the sole meaning of the song is quite debatable, the part that actually inspired me is a part that doesn't appear anywhere in lyrics sheets (websites, CD booklet and such), but she still sings it... something about underwater butterflies and lilies looking scary from beneath. :]

Speaking of lilies, I took a stab in the complete dark on them - the perspective is probably horribly wrong.

Two days, no ref (should've used some for hands, I guess), lots of fun.

Moonlight Romance

Something I sketched on my vacation in Greece that I simply had to colour.

I experimented with lineart and colouring a little and I think it came out okay. I tried to make the owl 'glow' with love, hence why it stands out so much; though I'm not sure if it worked so well :P Colouring the tree took me longer than I had expected, but I'm satisfied with the end result.

Here are some details that got eaten up when I resized the image:
